Google AI Overview Tracker
Track the AI Overviews your customers actually see. SERPent runs real search keywords, records which brands each AI Overview names and in what order, and shows how that changes day to day.

Built on keywords, not chat prompts
AI Overviews appear on Google search results, so they're triggered by what people type into Google: short keywords like "best hiking backpack". A long, conversational prompt often triggers no AI Overview at all.
So for AI Overviews, SERPent runs a seed keyword. When you add a prompt, it suggests the matching keyword for you to confirm or edit, and the Rankings view shows that keyword under each prompt.
When Google shows no AI Overview for a keyword, that run still counts towards n as not mentioned, and you can see that it happened. Nothing is quietly dropped to make the rate look better.
What SERPent tracks in Google AI Overviews
- Numbered positions: where each brand is named in the overview (#1, #2–3)
- Change against the previous period, with up and down arrows
- How often your brand is seen, shown as answers out of n
- Share of voice against competitors
- The sources each AI Overview cites, and where your brand isn't cited
- Every captured overview, so you can read exactly what Google said
Google AI Overviews tracking questions
How do you track Google AI Overviews?
SERPent runs each tracked keyword on Google multiple times every day, in each market, captures the AI Overview when one appears, and records which tracked brands it names, in what order, and which pages it cites.
Why use keywords instead of prompts for AI Overviews?
AI Overviews are triggered by real Google searches, and conversational prompts often produce no AI Overview at all. Running the seed keyword measures the overview people actually see.
What happens when Google shows no AI Overview?
The run counts towards n as not mentioned, and the run is labeled so you can see that Google showed no AI Overview for that query.
Is position the same as a Google ranking?
No. Position is where your brand is named among the tracked brands inside the AI Overview: #1 means it was the first tracked brand named. It's separate from the organic ranking of your pages.
Which countries can I track?
The United States and Canada (English) today, with each market tracked and reported separately.
Also tracked separately: Google AI Mode and ChatGPT.
